About Kenny
I've been a technical writer for 19 years, and I'm currently the Technical Writer Lead for Hewlett-Packard's ES Transportation division. My tools are the Cheetah CMS with Arbortext (structured XML authoring), FrameMaker, and the Adobe suite (for illustrating).

I grew up in Oklahoma City. When I was 18, I moved to Minnesota for college. Before my tech writing career, I was a teacher for a few years. During this time, I did academic catalog layout with Aldus PageMaker, creating hundreds of pages using the first version of PageMaker that ran on Windows.

In 1992, I became a technical writer creating faxable documents for a technical support group.

Later, I managed the technical support group, which led to being promoted to manager of 3rd-party service. Here, I launched a successful department, and I wrote and illustrated training documentation.

In 2001, I began using FrameMaker to create service manuals. In 2004, I became the Senior Technical Writer in charge of all service documentation.

I'm also an expert with Flash, web design, CSS, photography, video editing and video production for the web.

In December of 2010, I graduated with a Master of Science degree in Technical Communication. I was elected outstand Graduate student for my class, and I was selected for the Sigma Tau Chi award by the Society of Technical Communication.
